It’s Springtime! Flowers to Sniff, Poke, and Potentially Buy

We’ve checked the data: the increased frequency of sneezing by individuals with pollen allergies, the scratchy evidence left by blood-thirsty mosquitos and other insects, and the month (May). And we feel confident that we can declare the following: spring has indeed arrived.

Which means that it is time for us to officially release our list of flowers that you—yes, you—should purchase to support your local alleyway flower shops.

#1: Sunflowers

Everyone knows that the more sunflowers you purchase, the more sunlight you’ll have. With the shadows of winter still flickering in and out, having bundles of sunflowers will ward off the winter’s dread, lingering chill. Maybe you’ll even experience the strange phenomenon of warmth. Who knows?

#2: Irises

Do you have at least one eye? If so, does it exist on your face? If that sounds like you, we have the perfect flower for you: irises. By carrying them around or tucking them in your hair, they’ll really make your eyes stand out. Alternatively, people may believe that you have an extra eye, which would make you stand out even more.

#3: Bluebells

According to a recent study, 78.8% of the human population rank blue as their favorite color. Another study shows that 99.99% of individuals who have doorbells appreciate the fact that they have doorbells. Therefore, you should purchase a bouquet of bluebells for your crush—there’s a very good chance that they’ll fall in love with you soon after!

#4: Forget-me-nots

The best quality of these flowers is that you don’t need to remember to care for them. Aptly named, it’s literally impossible for you to forget about them. The cosmos literally won’t permit you to do so. It’s actually a little creepy.

#5: Tulips

Survives neglect.
