Top 5 Ways to Meet People on TransLoc

In today’s world, all relationships start online. The days of meeting someone at a café and getting married later that week are over. But how does one get started in this virtual romantic universe? There are so many options for dating websites and apps that it can be tough to know where to begin. Tinder? Swipe left. Match.com? No. EHarmony? No again. Grindr? It did not personally work for me. So where should a lonely twenty-something look?

TransLoc is a favorite dating app among the educated elite, and the hot, sexy, pre-educated pre-elite (college students). Just download the app, and get ready to be swarmed with attention from potential lovers. Here are our top five tips for landing the perfect TransLoc date:

1. Know yourself and love yourself before you meet and love others. How do you expect to find Mr. Right if you don’t even know where you are? Turn your location services ON and look at your reflection in the map right in front of you. Zoom in and out to really get a sense of your skin, hair, and overall aesthetic. Put on some lipstick.

2. Make a fun profile! Before you can start really using the app, you have to tell it a little bit about yourself. Take a picture where you look stunning, but slightly mysterious. Now it’s time to choose your preferences! Do you want a guy who wears a dark blue suit at all times? Check the circle next to “171.” Interested in a bold man who wears orange? Check the circle next to “Central.” Check as many circles as you want! The more you choose, the more suitors you’ll find.

3. Scout out the area! Look around you. Not at real life, of course, but at your illuminated TransLoc map. Who’s nearby? I see someone dressed in green sprinting between 53rd Street and 55th Street, making his way back to Ratner. He must be an athlete. That hunk in orange is stopping at so many different dorms—he must be a real player. Every circled arrow moving along a path marks another potential soulmate.

4. Where are all the boys? I’ve been waiting on this dark street corner for at least an hour now, and even though the app says Mr. 171 has been here twice I still haven’t seen this tall, dark, and handsome Casanova I’ve been anticipating. I’ll attribute this to a glitch in the system. Put on some more lipstick.

5. Oh, I get it now… get on the buses! The cuties are on the inside! Take risks. The app’s one flaw is that it’s a little unclear on how you actually meet up with your matches. I knew very early on that Mr. 171 was my dream guy, but we didn’t get past wistful longing for each other until a little later than I had hoped. I made the brave decision to get on a bus, and that changed everything. Though I didn’t see the one suited man I had originally intended to meet, I realized I had found a gold mine. While I sat on that bus for four hours straight and went on the same alluring route over and over and over again, I met a lot of potential admirers I never would have seen otherwise. Overall, TransLoc is by far the greatest and most successful dating app I have ever used.
