Bears Not Super Bowl Favorites Against 49ers, Ravens

As we anxiously await today’s matchup between the two best teams in the National Football League, one thing is for certain, few expect the Bears to win. The last time the Chicago Bears won the big game was over 28 years ago in the Super Bowl XX, and the last time the Chicago Bears played a game of football was over a month ago, which leaves many questioning their ability to shake off the rust and give it one last go before they call this season quits.
Jay Cutler met with press the other day at his mom’s house in Lincoln City, Indiana. When asked about his expectations for this weekend, he frequently said he was trying to “Get [the thought of the football game] out of my house.”He added, “I really need you guys to leave [me to do my job and get the team motivated and get good players out on the field and be a team leader and such]”, expressing a somewhat contradictory sentiment which led many experts to think Cutler’s mind wasn’t in the game.
Others expressed interest in why Cutler remained in Indiana when he should be out practicing with the team, getting ready for their big performance in only a few days. When asked, Cutler responded by saying “I am seriously [motivated to perform this weekend, I think we can get the team ready to play really well—you know, get them… I don’t want to say] angry [, but motivated, I guess. We’ll be coming] at you [with some of the best football we’ve ever played].” Despite his strong words, many were left unconvinced, noting that he gave the speech in a bathrobe and someone else said they saw food between his teeth, which has yet to be confirmed.
In all, analysts doubt Cutler’s ability to turn things around for the Bears in the biggest game all year. The line coming out of Las Vegas today is: San Francisco -5 and Chicago +56
