The NBA recently approved a trade between the Portland Trailblazers and the Los Angeles Clippers in which the Trailblazers will give $2 million to the Clippers and the Clippers will give $3 million to the Trailblazers.

“We’re trying to strike a balance between remaining competitivein the Western conference the short term and maintaining flexibility for the future,” said Clippers general manager Dave Wohl at a press conference announcing the trade. He added, “Hopefully, this move should free up cap space in preparation for the free agent crop of 2015.”

“We certainly paid a hefty price, but it was nothing compared to the potential players we could get with that $2 million,” Clippers point guard Chris Paul told the Shady Dealer. “That type of value is hard to find in today’s NBA, and I’m glad that we were able to get this deal done.”

“It’s not my job to comment on the management of the organization,” remarked Trailblazers power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. “I just go out there and play my best day in and day out.”

At press time, the other 28 general managers from the league were camping outside of the Staples Center in Los Angeles hoping to get a meeting with Wohl before the trade deadline passes.
