Homeless Man Fined for Littering Himself

A man living on the streets of Chicago was fined $300 dollars for littering when a policeman found him sleeping in an alleyway.
Cedric Galloway, the homeless individual, admitted to taking up residence for the night near a prominent No Littering notice, but said that “was hardly a reason” to give him such an exorbitant fine. Upon discovering the homeless individual, Officer James Galicia issued a $300 citation; when Mr. Galloway looked around and asked the officer what he had tossed, the officer simply said, ”All of it. Legs and all. Don’t you care about the environment? All of that” – Galloway indicated that the policeman pointed at him – “isn’t gonna decompose, no way.”
“We don’t want trash blowing in the wind everywhere, or sitting on every sidewalk,” Officer Galicia continued. “That’s nasty. We don’t want gum, receipts, soda cans, or homeless people to get smashed into every sidewalk by Chicago’s notoriously heavy pedestrian traffic, and we will ticket harshly to keep that from happening.”
As of yet, it is uncertain how the case will be resolved – Mr. Galloway’s net worth is not purported to cover the fine, “not that I would give away my fishing net anyway” he said.
