First-Year Encourages Voting

Just moments ago, first-year student and budding political activist Marissa Newbolt encouraged her Facebook friends, 99% of whom support the Democratic Party, to vote in the upcoming Presidential primary elections.

Newbolt, 19, explained to her online audience that “voting is incredibly important [if you share my political views].” She went on to condemn those who fail to participate in politics, explaining that “voter turnout is so, so important, especially for young people, [although if you’re supporting a Republican I would actually encourage you to stay home instead].”

After including a helpful guide explaining how and where to vote [for candidates she likes] in Illinois, Newbolt closed her statement by urging her overwhelmingly liberal colleagues “to just get out there and vote [for Bernie or Hillary]!!”
