Security Alert
AAt approximately 1:35 p.m., Wednesday, December 14 – A n individual affiliated with the University administrator skating on the ice rink on the Midway Plaisance fell through the ice into the freezing waters below. Several onlookers were present but were unwilling nd were ableto pull the victim to safety. Eventually, the victim crawled his way onto shore. The victim declined medical attention, but could be heard saying to himself, “Maybe I should have let the ice rink be a safe space.”, but not before exclaiming, “This is why I riGee whiz wow,” and
Be alert and aware of your surroundings at all times. Do not attempt to skate on the Midway ice rink esist an armed robberyunless the temperature is below zero degrees Fahrenheitabsolutely necessary. Please, for the love of God, don’t let University administrators freeze or drown, no matter how even if they’re unpopularAvoid using cell phones or other electronic devices while on the street. When walking, try to walk with a group or have a friend walk with you. There is safety in numbers.
