High School Hustler Applies ED to Electoral College
Incoming first-year and high school hustler Mason Rimmer posted his college rankings on his college-focused YouTube channel. Notably, he listed UChicago as a regular decision target school, as his early decision application went to the Electoral College.
“Since I was the president of the debate club and a varsity cross-country runner, I feel like the Electoral College would fulfill my political aspirations. If something goes wrong with the election, I can run really far away,” Rimmer said in his video.
Rimmer, who had a higher GPA (normal and weighted) than you and an immaculate 36 on the ACT, was unfortunately rejected from the Electoral College because he lacked any experience with a major political party. After the decision, Rimmer said, “Unfortunately, the political party I co-founded only won a few positions in the Rochester city government, as I was busy getting my Public Administration degree during my summer breaks.”
Rimmer is the start of an expected trend of teenagers applying to the Electoral College, which has an acceptance rate of 0.02%. Despite his rejection, Rimmer walked away from the experience with a good story for his graduate school application and one electoral vote from the State of Maine.
