Dearest members of the scientific community of the United States, 

I write to you today with the most urgent news. I recently sent ten young scholars from my country to the United States for an education in molecular engineering and astrophysics. I was shocked, however, at the lack of scientific education in what you call “high school.” Only two years of science required during the most important time in a child’s social emotional and intellectual development, with the rest of the time being focused on war drills and militarization of physical education? I am most worried for the development of your children and your country’s future.
