Phoenix AI to Stop Saying Key Words Like Bankruptcy or Debt
This morning, a whistleblower in the UChicago AI Development team informed the Dealer that Phoenix AI will no longer respond to questions containing the following buzzwords:
- Bankruptcy
- Debt
- Restructuring
- Deficit
- Economics
- Money
This decision has outraged students and faculty, causing concerns surrounding free speech. When we contacted the University about the controversy, a university spokesperson told us, “Letting Phoenix AI tell the few students who didn’t know about the University’s debts would’ve killed the last bit of fun they had left. Come on, let ‘em live a little.”
University admin further commented that the restriction would be removed if a “wealthy, free speech-loving donor paid off the university’s debts” and that “if students really cared about the issue, maybe they would actually support the University through this difficult time instead of crying about it so much.”
