{"id":7448,"date":"2026-02-05T10:40:00","date_gmt":"2026-02-05T16:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chicagoshadydealer.com\/?p=7448"},"modified":"2026-02-08T15:44:43","modified_gmt":"2026-02-08T21:44:43","slug":"professor-who-takes-ten-weeks-to-grade-papers-shocked-by-late-assignment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chicagoshadydealer.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/05\/professor-who-takes-ten-weeks-to-grade-papers-shocked-by-late-assignment\/","title":{"rendered":"Professor Who Takes Ten Weeks to Grade Papers Shocked by Late Assignment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Extremely tenured Professor Elbridge Stenton was deeply offended on Monday when a student submitted an assignment one day late.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDeadlines are sacred,\u201d said Stenton, who has not yet graded the assignments submitted during the Carter administration \u2013 the first one. \u201cThey teach students discipline, something many of them clearly lack.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alumna Rachel Lin explained, \u201cIt\u2019s been really frustrating for me because I spent so long on this essay and I\u2019m still waiting for my grade back.\u201d She graduated in 2000.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI turned in my midterm in December,\u201d said second-year Maya Santos. \u201cI\u2019ve emailed him three times since, but he said he\u2019s still \u2018absorbing the nuances.\u2019 It was a Scantron.\u201d Santos has since switched her major to Theoretical Mathematics because \u201cit\u2019s the same math I was doing to guess my grade.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One student attempted to file a formal complaint. The Office of Student Life replied: \u201cWe take allegations of timelessness very seriously.
