{"id":7031,"date":"2025-04-09T11:50:17","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T16:50:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chicagoshadydealer.com\/?p=7031"},"modified":"2025-04-05T11:57:01","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T16:57:01","slug":"quantum-mechanics-final-to-be-held-in-one-of-seven-locations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chicagoshadydealer.com\/index.php\/2025\/04\/09\/quantum-mechanics-final-to-be-held-in-one-of-seven-locations\/","title":{"rendered":"Quantum Mechanics Final to Be Held in One of Seven Locations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students enrolled in CHEM 36200: Quantum Mechanics were bewildered to find that their final exam will be held at 7:30 AM on Tuesday of finals week in \u201cone of seven possible locations.\u201d These locations, spread throughout various buildings across campus, are all in rooms with those chairs with the tiny- arm-desks which break all the time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A representative from the Office of the Registrar justified the decision by explaining that \u201cdue to the quantum uncertainty principle, because we know exactly when the exam will be, we are unable to determine exactly where the exam will be until it happens and is observed. We were luckily able to narrow it down, but we really can\u2019t say for sure.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nonetheless, students are expected to be a minimum of ten minutes early to the exam.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019m a little apprehensive about it,\u201d said third-year Nicholas Jones. \u201cIt\u2019s a good thing we know exactly when it\u2019ll start\u20147:45, because the professor will be late\u2014but I\u2019d literally actually physically kill to find out where it\u2019s gonna be. I don\u2019t know when I need to wake up, where I should sit, or even how fast the exam will be moving. But I do know what will be on the exam because I stole a copy from our professor\u2019s mailbox.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When asked how he\u2019d managed to steal the exam in advance undetected, he replied, \u201cSee, that\u2019s the neat thing about quantum uncertainty. Our professor knows exactly when and where the exam was taken from, so he can\u2019t possibly know who took it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was later revealed that the real reason the Registrar couldn\u2019t pin down the exact location of the exam was due to regular uncertainty, rather than quantum uncertainty.
