Rather than featuring quirky prompts drawn from puns or word games, the new UChicago essay will include prompts like: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Describe a time when you had to answer a question about William Faulkner in only a few seconds.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dean of Enrollment Jim Nondorf sat for an exclusive interview with <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Dealer <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to explain this radical change in admissions policy. Nondorf explained that UChicago will begin searching far and wide to develop a tight group of ten Quizbowlers, recruiting men from across Stuyvesant High School: \u201cBy this time next year, we want to have a class made up entirely of guys who can name every US vice president but not a single female singer.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While in the past UChicago has tried to build a well-rounded class of about 1700 students, Nondorf stated that the administration now wishes to create a close-knit group of \u201cdudes who know a lot about catapults and stuff.\u201d Mr. Nondorf took a\u00a0 College\u00a0 application out of his briefcase and slammed it on the table. \u201cLook at this absolute stud,\u201d Nondorf said, displaying a picture of a white male with brown hair. \u201cHe\u2019s won multiple High School Quizbowl titles and he eats lunch by himself everyday.
