As a first-year college student, I feel privileged, if a bit disappointed, to be among the select group of students experiencing college for the first time through the lens of remote learning. It may not be fun, but it is <em>historic<\/em>. As such, I am preparing this list of experiences I\u2019ve had for the first time this year for historical reference.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some things I\u2019ve done for the first time this year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Write a college paper<\/li>\n<li>Stay in my childhood bed for 96 hours straight, leaving only briefly to take a shit<\/li>\n<li>Get tested for COVID-19<\/li>\n<li>Learn I was rejected from an RSO via the Zoom private message feature<\/li>\n<li>Assemble a collection of plastic silverware from the dining hall, each with their own name<\/li>\n<li>Pass out drunk in the shower<\/li>\n<li>Lose my virginity to a spoon \u2014 Sandra, if you\u2019re reading this, &lt;3<\/li>\n<li>Attempt to jump rope with an Ethernet cable for exercise<\/li>\n<li>Lose my virginity to a human<\/li>\n<li>Test positive for COVID-19<\/li>\n<li>Live in Snitchcock!<\/li>\n<li>Test positive for herpes<\/li>\n<li>See the snow<\/li>\n<li>Pass out drunk in the snow<\/li>\n<li>Too many Canvas modules<\/li>\n<li>Find someone who maybe, possibly, if I play my cards right, might become the first friend I make in college<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a first-year college student, I feel privileged to be among the select group of students experiencing college for the first time through the lens of remote learning.
