A man living on the streets of Chicago was fined $300 dollars for littering when a policeman found him sleeping in an alleyway.<\/p>\n
\tCedric Galloway, the homeless individual, admitted to taking up residence for the night near a prominent \u0093No Littering\u0094 notice, but said that “was hardly a reason” to give him such an exorbitant fine. Upon discovering the homeless individual, Officer James Galicia issued a $300 citation; when Mr. Galloway looked around and asked the officer what he had tossed, the officer simply said, \u0093”All of it. Legs and all. Don’\u0092t you care about the environment? All of that”\u0094 \u2013\u0097 Galloway indicated that the policeman pointed at him \u2013 “\u0093isn’\u0092t gonna decompose, no way.\u0094” <\/p>\n
“\u0093We don’\u0092t want trash blowing in the wind everywhere, or sitting on every sidewalk,” Officer Galicia continued. “That’\u0092s nasty. We don\u0092’t want gum, receipts, soda cans, or homeless people to get smashed into every sidewalk by Chicago\u0092’s notoriously heavy pedestrian traffic, and we will ticket harshly to keep that from happening.\u0094”<\/p>\n
