At a news conference yesterday in Boston, chuckling <\/insert>economists presented the results of a series of studies showing that the fishing industry is, ahem,<\/delete> floundering.<\/p>\n

Lead researcher Dora<\/insert>y<\/delete> Fischer tried hard not to giggle audibly while revealing that the livelihood of thousands of Boston-area residents was being eroded by overfishing and climate change.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere has been a steep loss of cod and haddock populations off the New England coast, and so the fishing industry is, unfortunately, floundering,\u201d she snickered. <\/p>\n

\u201cSome of you might<\/delete>may<\/insert> be thinking, \u2018Holy mackerel!\u2019\u201d she tittered. \u201cBut instead of just carping about it, we should remember that, while there is no sole solution, there is always a ray of hope.\u201d <\/p>\n

Dr. Fischer paused to compose herself, sniggering, \u201cO<\/insert>O<\/delete>verconsumption is not a red herring! It\u2019s a whale of a problem.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cAmericans are wolfing down copious amounts of fish,<\/insert> and it\u2019s simply unsustainable,\u201d laughed Dr. Fischer, apparently nearing the end of her supply <\/delete>having run out <\/insert>of fish<\/insert>piscine<\/delete> puns. \u201cThis problem\u2019s going to keep dogging us until we find a way to weasel out of such a large-scale situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
