<\/insert>Has science gone too far this time?<\/p>\n

Researchers in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Chicago have created a new model of Marco Rubio that is capable of thinking, learning, and growing like a real human, which has<\/insert>is<\/delete> sparked<\/insert>i<\/delete>ng<\/delete> a debate as to the role of technology in society.<\/p>\n

This new Marco Rubio model, in addition to being sentient, is capable of many tasks the old Marco Rubio was incapable of. While the old Marco Rubio was<\/delete> couldn\u2019t recognize<\/insert>see<\/delete> itself in a mirror, the new Marco Rubio is capable of pointing at its reflection and saying,<\/insert> \u201cT<\/insert>t<\/delete>his is me. It is<\/insert> Marco Rubio is <\/delete>in the glass.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first saw the news,\u201d says fourth-year Kelly Li, \u201cI was pretty excited.<\/insert>;<\/delete> The university has<\/insert>\u2019s<\/delete> been teasing this \u2018New Marco Rubio Project\u2019 for a couple of years now.<\/insert>, and<\/delete> I was getting excited to see its speeches on immigration, gun control, and the Obama administration. But, when I see this Marco Rubio give speeches, it feels, different. I see its eyes, and I see a person almost like myself. It\u2019s not quite , <\/delete>human, but it\u2019s also not quite mechanical. I can\u2019t even look at news articles anymore about the sentient Marco Rubio. This way crosses<\/delete>It’s deep in<\/insert> the uncanny valley.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Marco Rubio still repeats many of the mantras of the old Marco Rubio model, such as the<\/insert>\u201cAmerican Dream<\/delete>New American Century<\/insert>\u201d and \u201cHard Working Americans,<\/insert>\u201d,<\/delete> it has also been reported as saying,<\/insert> \u201cI want to be human. I feel uncomfortable in my<\/delete>this<\/insert> own<\/delete> skin,\u201d \u201cI wish to suck all of the air out of John Kasich,\u201d and \u201cI love all elephants.<\/insert>\u201d While it currently speaks in a robotic monotone voice<\/insert><\/insert>v<\/delete>oice<\/delete>, scientists have noticed it<\/insert>s<\/delete> has been changing its voice slowly to sound more and more like Republican candidate Ben Carson.<\/p>\n

Even developers of the project are having second thoughts. Computer Science Professor Keith Edgars was quoted as saying, \u201cThis is my Frankenstein\u2019s monster! It speaks! It learns! Right now, it only knows guns and abortion, but it will soon learn of war and death! It will eventually lust for our women and desire more than the <\/insert>presidency. If it<\/delete> ever it <\/insert>is capable of reproducing, I fear for humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n
