After pressure from the student body for more credit from their AP examinations, the College is now offering Class of 2020 students with 5\u2019s on certain tests <\/delete>the option to forego their first year of socialization. The year previously served as a prerequisite to many of the College\u2019s core curriculum, but is now being waived as the College promotes the new program, \u201cAny<\/delete>body <\/delete>All <\/insert>Needs<\/delete> A Little Time for Themself<\/insert>ves<\/delete>, Ideally\u201d shortened to simply \u201cANAL TFTI.\u201d The program will feature a short three <\/insert>–<\/delete>hour online course on the importance of minimizing contact with others and tactics one can take to avoid getting into situations where talking to others might be necessary.<\/p>\n

Dean Die<\/insert>e<\/delete>a<\/delete>n\u2019s<\/delete> explained the reason for this sudden decision, saying, \u201cI wish I could, but I can\u2019t. I really should, but I shan\u2019t.\u201d <\/p>\n

When asked about the new measure, students seemed to disagree on whether \u201cANAL TFTI\u201d is a strong enough replacement for the year of human interaction. One member of the Class of 2020, who asked to remain unidentified, said, \u201cPlease stop talking to me.<\/insert> I got a 5 on AP Chem.<\/insert> I don\u2019t need this right now.\u201d Others argue that one year of social interactions is \u201cvital to the development of the young adult\u201d and \u201cit won\u2019t be like this in the real world\u201d and \u201cwe do not condone the creation of intellectual safe spaces.\u201d<\/p>\n
