The University of Chicago Admissions Office recently announced an exciting new diversity initiative, the Opportunity Scholarship, to help increase the diversity of rich and privileged students attending the University. The Admissions Office said the new program reflects the University\u2019s commitment towards bringing in all sorts of wealthy students from different backgrounds. <\/insert><\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to ensure we have <\/delete>diversity in all senses<\/insert> of the word:<\/insert>,<\/delete> geographic, racial, cultural, you name it. That means rich children of Midwestern business tycoons, wealthy children of West Coast celebrities and<\/insert>,<\/delete> rich children of international businessmen can all find a home here.<\/insert> ,<\/delete> W<\/insert>w<\/delete>e here<\/delete> at the University are committed to being diverse place\u201d said one admissions officer regarding<\/insert>about<\/delete> the new decision. <\/insert><\/p>\n

The University stated that <\/insert>aid<\/delete> “<\/insert>it is important to have this crucial diversity to foster the<\/insert>for the<\/delete> l<\/insert>L<\/delete>ife of the m<\/insert>M<\/delete>ind on campus<\/insert>at the University<\/delete>. \u201c<\/delete>While we still have a long way to go, this diversity will truly ensure a rich and productive dialogue and exchange of privileged ideas from all over the world.\u201d <\/insert><\/p>\n

The initiative will entail increased outreach and contact with students and the new <\/delete>sc<\/delete>holarship, the Opportunity Scholarship,<\/delete> to<\/delete>in order to<\/insert> let prospective students know that the University is a diverse and welcoming<\/insert>m<\/delete>e<\/delete> community filled with all sorts of privilege. The s<\/insert>Opportunity S<\/delete>cholarship will available exclusively to <\/insert>only be for <\/delete>families making more than $<\/insert>250,000$<\/delete> a year to ensure that those who need help the most recieve<\/insert>get<\/delete> it. The <\/delete>s<\/insert><\/delete>S<\/delete>cholarship will allow recipients to meet all of the University\u2019s financial need <\/delete>in order <\/insert><\/delete>to ensure financial well-being.<\/delete> The Scholarship will also feature specialized support staff to help students tap into their already rich network of opportunity and privilege to the fullest extent. <\/insert><\/p>\n
