In an attempt to remain a global and healthy cereal brand, Kellogg\u2019s introduced “Rasputin-O\u2019s” in Russia. While expecting the cereal to be a nutritious and delicious hit with kids, sales for the cereal flopped.<\/insert><\/p>\n

\u201cWe saw the ridiculous, mystical, mysterious story of Rasputin, how he was connected to the czar, and had an awesome beard, and thought, \u2018how could this not sell?\u2019\u201d said Kellogg\u2019s R<\/insert>r<\/delete>egional C<\/insert>c<\/delete>hief Didier Azpilicueta. Rather, sales for the cereal were the worst of any cereal <\/delete>Kellogg\u2019s has yet released. <\/insert><\/p>\n

In order to market the cereal to children, Kellogg\u2019s adjusted the image of the mysterious, mythicized, enigmatic Rasputin to a cute, chubby \u201cMr. Raspy\u201d and adjusted flavorings of the cereal to resemble its mascot.<\/insert><\/p>\n

\u201cConsidering Rasputin was tossed in a river multiple times and poisoned with cyanide and yet survived both, our cereal stays afloat and crunchy no matter how much milk you put in it,<\/insert>\u201d said Azpilicueta. \u201cActually, scratch the milk part \u2013 ‘<\/insert>“<\/delete>Rasputin-O\u2019s‘<\/insert>“<\/delete> were made to taste best with slightly dirty, cold tap water, which is pretty common given Russian infrastructure.\u201d<\/insert><\/p>\n

As of the release of this article, Russian President Vladimir Putin has asked for a total recall of “Rasputin-O\u2019s” and a deletion of the \u201cRas\u201d from their name.
