\u201cTelling a pubpol major to avoid D.C. or NYC is like telling an English major to go to Cheyenne,\u00a0Wyoming,\u201d chimed in third-year Amelia Mond. \u201cIt\u2019s not that other cities don\u2019t have political\u00a0machines (or publishing houses), other cities just have, you know, bigger and better ones.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mond added that she is unsure where the pubpol-as-econ-sellout reputation of the major came\u00a0from.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re not all econ sellouts! Some of us try to change things, but then run into the\u00a0numerous obstacles intentionally in place to stop that change and sell out later,\u201d Mond added.\u00a0\u201cI mean, I wish the major spent as much time on how to fix broken politics from outside the\u00a0system as it did on random irrelevant game theory bullshit, but hey, that\u2019s just me.
